Among these artists, Frédéric Coché, Richard Müller, Natasja van Kampen and, more recently, Anaïs Lelièvre, Fabrice Cazenave, Gabriel Folli and Emmy Bergsma have favored drawing-with very different approaches-from the very start of their careers.
Audrey Aumégeas' drawings, presented in focus for Drawing Now 2026, are hybrid compositions, where her fetish furniture elements intermingle and multiply, combine and reproduce themselves; her subjects: characters awaiting incarnation. The fictions are woven from the layers that Audrey Aumégeas superimposes and stacks, in one or two dimensions; the velvety quality of her deep blacks, drawn with graphite, enhances the carefully selected motifs.
