Visit of the exhibition “The Society of Spectacles”
Guided tour of the exhibition The Society of Spectacles
With Farah Atassi and Ulla Von Brandenburg
Curated by Marjolaine Lévy
Until April 20, 2024
From 13 February to 20 April, the Pernod Ricard Foundation presents the exhibition “La Société des Spectacles”, curated by Marjolaine Lévy and featuring the works of Farah Atassi be combined with the textile and video work of Ulla von Brandenburg. Although different in their artistic practice, the two artists come together around a reflection on the use of the stage, the spectacle, artifice and the staging of the self. In addition, Farah Atassi and Ulla von Brandenburg inherit a particular attraction for the modernist era, the history of art marked by avant-garde artists such as Pablo Picasso, Fernand Léger, Marcel Duchamp, and stage artists Oskar Schlemmer and Xanti Schawinsky, whose aesthetic and conceptual influences appear in this exhibition.
