Drawing Now Paris, the trade fair for contemporary drawing

Founded in 2007 by Christine PhalDrawing Now Paris is Europe's first contemporary art fair devoted exclusively to drawing. Since its creation, it has accompanied the evolution of the medium and revealed its vitality through a demanding curatorial approach.

For its 20th edition, Drawing Now Paris will bring together over 70 international galleries, presenting artists with a wide range of practices, from the rediscovery of historic figures to the most contemporary experiments.

Through its program of talks, performances, professional meetings and exhibition, Drawing Now Paris highlights the richness and diversity of contemporary drawing. The show affirms drawing as a space that unfolds and reinvents itself, shaped by the aesthetic, technical and societal issues of our time. It thus confirms its role as a reference platform for contemporary creation.

Testimonials

"We got to know collectors we didn't know before. We sold around 15 pieces and met many French and international institutions. The show's contemporary focus creates a very positive dynamic."

Nathalie Obadia, Galerie Nathalie Obadia

"Drawing Now has once again confirmed the value of this format for drawing in all its dimensions, enabling us to present a more intimate approach to the work of our artists and to establish fruitful exchanges with collectors.

The French scene attracted considerable attention, with Claude Viallat (€4,000-5,000), Abdelkader Benchamma and his cosmic drawings (€4,000-20,000), and Nazanin Pouyandeh's self-portraits (€4,000-6,000). Among international artists, interest was also confirmed in the Belgian Hans Op de Beeck (€20,000-50,000) and the Japanese Chiharu Shiota (€10,000-15,000) seen at the Grand Palais last year."

Théa Chevalin, TEMPLON

"This year's edition was a real vintage for us. Upstream communication around the work of Katarzyna Wysiołek, shortlisted for the Drawing Now Prize, contributed greatly to its visibility, with the sale of around twenty drawings, including Solis, the large sun shown at the center of the booth.

In response to demand, we were obliged to repeat several exhibits throughout the show. Damien Cabanes sold his two large drawings, while Roméo Mivekannin was also a great success.

Eric Dupont, Eric Dupont Gallery

Nous présentions cette année un projet inédit de l’artiste belge Pieter Jennes. Whilst the artist already has an established career in the United States and, of course, in Belgium, this project also offered a real insight into the artist’s unique world. Drawing Now has always provided an opportunity for the fair’s visitors to discover or rediscover artists, and the event attracted a very wide audience throughout the week. Pieter Jennes’s work was very well received by new French and European collectors, with more than half of the works being acquired by first-time buyers.

Benoit Porcher, Semiose

Drawing Now Paris holds up well in difficult times. It's a great opportunity to showcase a practice that is often essential to our artists, like Sandra Plantiveau, in focus this year. Drawing Now Paris is the most important fair for contemporary drawing, and I'm always delighted to take part.

Aurélie Amiot, Modulab

For a first-timer at Drawing Now, we appreciated the organizers' availability and responsiveness, as well as the general enthusiasm of the visitors, both the curious and the collectors. Details that give the show a very special and pleasant energy.

Nadine Fattouh, Nadine Fattouh Gallery

In the aisles of the Parisian event dedicated to contemporary drawing, we spotted four little-known artists whose work is well worth a detour. It's hard to find your way around Drawing Now, the show dedicated to contemporary drawing, among all the proposals presented by the 71 galleries from 13 different countries. We have selected four artists whose original work catches the eye.

Emmanuelle Lequeux, Le Monde - March 26, 2026

After wandering through the aisles of Paris's Carreau du Temple to gauge the 71 galleries and take a look at the 300 artists on display, here's an attempt to make a selection from the profusion of things seen. Drawings in graphite, electric wire and wire, ink, watercolor and pencil, on a flat sheet of Canson paper or in volume... Drawing Now Paris, the lively art fair held at the Carreau du Temple for its 19th edition, offers a wealth of proposals.

Sonya Faure and Clémentine Mercier, Libération - March 27, 2026

A breath of fresh air is always in order at Drawing Now, the contemporary art fair that awaits enthusiasts in search of new discoveries, until Sunday evening at Carreau du Temple, 4, rue Eugène-Spuller, Paris (3rd). Here, under the glass roof of the former covered market, this 19th edition succeeds in combining professionalism and freshness.

Valérie Duponchelle, Le Figaro - March 27, 2026

Under the great glass roof of the Carreau du Temple, the 19th edition of the contemporary art fair, founded in 2007, is consolidating its position, while also introducing new features and new faces.

Eva Hameau, Le Journal des Arts - April 3, 2026

Drawing Now returns to the Carreau du Temple, bringing together 71 international galleries until March 29. Whether in watercolor, ink or felt-tip pen; on paper, canvas, ceramic or even directly on the walls, this 19th edition will once again demonstrate the vitality and inventiveness of contemporary drawing.

Inès Boittiaux, Beaux Arts - March 27, 2026

At the end of its first day, Drawing Now confirms its strengths: a clear market, accessible prices, and an ability to seamlessly bring together established galleries and newcomers. Drawing, a medium of precision and economy of means, seems more than ever at home here.
