Guided tour of the Iris Kensmil exhibition

Exhibition by Iris Kensmil,
March 24th to 29th.

The presentation of works by Iris Kensmil at theAtelier Néerlandaisin Paris is the fruit of a partnership with FRAC Picardie and Drawing Now Art Fair. This exhibition is part of the “Printemps du dessin” program, and is an opportunity to reveal this exceptional body of work acquired by FRAC Picardie in 2023 following the discovery of her “Some of my Souls” exhibition at Kunstinstituut Melly in Rotterdam in 2022.

This artist, who lives and works in Amsterdam, was not previously represented in French public collections. A committed artist, Iris Kensmil is emblematic of the Dutch art scene for her political commitments, which are evident in the themes and subjects she develops in her work. The history of feminism and feminist struggles, as well as postcolonial issues, are the main thrusts of her artistic approach, which can be seen in her drawings and installations.
