Guided tour of the exhibition “1925-2025. One hundred years of Art Deco” exhibition

Exhibition “1925-2025. One hundred years of Art Deco”,
Until April 26, 2026,
Curators: Bénédicte Gady and Anne Monier Vanryb.

Journey to the heart of the Roaring Twenties and its heritage masterpieces with the exhibition “1925-2025. One hundred years of Art Deco”. Sculptural furniture, precious jewelry, objets d’art, drawings, posters and fashion pieces: nearly 1,000 works tell the story of the richness, elegance and contradictions of a style that continues to fascinate.

One hundred years after the 1925 Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes propelled Art Deco to the forefront of the world stage, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs celebrates this bold, refined and resolutely modern style. Immersive scenography, sumptuous materials, stylized forms and exceptional craftsmanship make up a lively, sensory journey, where Art Deco unfolds all its facets. The exhibition comes to a spectacular close with the legendary Orient Express, a veritable jewel of luxury and innovation. A cabin from the former Étoile du Nord train and three models of the future Orient Express, reinvented by Maxime d’Angeac, take over the museum’s nave. An invitation to explore a world where art, beauty and dreams are invented in the present as they were in 1925. The exhibition is curated by Bénédicte Gady, Museum Director, and Anne Monier Vanryb, Conservator of Modern Collections 1910-1960.
