Présentation de l'artiste en focus

Florent Chavouet likes to go back to the photos and sketchbooks of his past travels. He navigates through his memories, appealing more to sensory memory than to sharp, precise observation. The result is a play of murky reflections, vaporous atmospheres and drawings that reveal themselves in chiaroscuro. He varies the seasons and the light according to his inspiration. In this series of drawings, it's no longer a question of going out to meet the other, who is often absent or whose presence is reduced to a more or less diffuse silhouette. Florent Chavouet seems to turn his gaze inward, focusing on impressions and recreating horizons and streets that now exist only in his memory.
