Galerie Anne-Sarah Bénichou

Sector General

Presentation of the gallery

Founded in 2016 in Paris' Marais district, Galerie Anne-Sarah Bénichou represents 17 artists of different generations, French and foreign, emerging and established. The great diversity of the practices and origins of these artists contributes to the promotion of individualities with a singular view of the world, and to institute a dialogue between different eras and various art forms (painting, photography, sculpture, performance, installation and drawing).
Each exhibition seeks to question the sensibility of the world, and more particularly the place and form that contemporary art takes in our society. Over the past nine years, the gallery has found its place on the French and international scenes, among collectors and art professionals, pursuing a single goal: a commitment to culture, the arts and artists.
Galerie Anne-Sarah Bénichou also pursues a publishing activity, regularly producing catalogs and books on its artists. Many scholars, critics, and curators participate in these initiatives and offer a detailed overview of the artists' work.

Présentation de l'artiste en focus

Maxime Verdier will produce a series of previously unseen drawings in color and black & white exclusively for the show.
Born in Dieppe in 1991, Maxime Verdier lives and works in Paris. First noticed at the 64th Salon de Montrouge, he has participated in numerous exhibitions in France and was resident at the Drawing Factory in Paris in 2021. His work is the embodiment in sculpture and drawing of a range of memories, emotions and events. Through the juxtaposition and confrontation of the lived and the phantasmagorical, his work conjures up multiple universes, exhuming intimate narratives. In 2023, he designed the poster for the French Open, entitled "Terre d'étoiles".
