Featured artist
Espace a Vendre has chosen A4, a modest, universal format. To celebrate its twentieth anniversary, the gallery is offering all invited artists this unique format, a common space where every gesture and idea can unfold with intensity.
As with Thierry Lagalla, present at the gallery from the outset, this common surface becomes a space for thought and humor, a field of exploration where the simplest gesture reveals the complexity of the world. A trivial format par excellence, whose dimensions, through photocopying and printing, have become engraved in our collective memory, the A4 is for him a way of inhabiting reality through drawing.
This format, so often used by the artist, will serve as the common thread running through the exhibition, uniting the artists' gestures and gazes around the same familiar surface. He finds it the ideal place for an ongoing quest, where everything can become form, sign or game.
