Our program continues to focus on artists pursuing a conceptual approach - essentially minimalistic or tending at a narrative minimalism with a historical, social or personal underpinning.
Since 2023 annex14 is located in Zürich next to the Kunsthaus, annex14bis is a small, very intimate space in a Villa outside Bern, surrounded by a wonderful garden.

Drawings have been the most important means of expression for the Egyptian-German artist Susan Hefuna since the mid-1990s.
Hefuna will put together a selection of works on paper from the years 2023-2025 especially for the solo presentation at artissima 2025.
In her works on paper, she uses seemingly abstract lines to create delicate spatial connections between outer and inner worlds.
Since 2004, Hefuna has also been working with Cairo craftsmen who produce wooden screens, known as mashrabiya, which filter the light in traditional houses and protect women from prying eyes. The designs of these screens partly inspire her drawings, for which she uses ink and layers of tracing and cartridge paper, giving them a sense of quilted qualities by overlaying cultural expressions with personal experiences.
