Curated by Laëtitia Desserrières and Julien Voinot.
Until May 17, 2026.
Nicolas Daubanes builds a bridge between his artistic language and the memory of emblematic places of conflict. At the heart of his approach are four themes widely present at the Musée de l’Armée: insurrection, landscape as the embodiment of memorial issues, imprisonment linked to repression and resistance.
Born in 1983, Nicolas Daubanes lives and works in Perpignan. Exploring the limits of existence and the human condition, he has conducted numerous workshops and artist residencies in prisons. For the past ten years, his work has been rooted in a reflection on the transmission of memory in places steeped in history. Nicolas Daubanes is a graduate of the École des Beaux-arts de Perpignan and a resident of the Villa Médicis in 2024-2025.
