Presentation of the gallery
Founded in 2004 in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage and based in Paris since 2019, Galerie Wagner promotes the currents of geometric abstraction (concrete, constructed and kinetic art), as well as art forms linked to architecture and science. These art forms, which are structuring because they are structured, sometimes minimalist, always questioning, are the materialization of a capacity to think about the world through a formal language that may be simple (squares, circles, triangles, lines...) but is closely linked to science, mathematics, philosophy, poetry and even spirituality. The gallery organizes 7 to 8 exhibitions a year featuring artists of museum and international stature, as well as young artists. The Gallery has been a member of the Comité professionnel des Galeries d'Art since 2015.
Présentation du projet
For Drawing Now 2026, Galerie Wagner is presenting a solo show by Michel Paysant, on a theme in part linked to Monet (who died in 1926), as a follow-up to his exhibition at the Orangerie and ahead of a group show in the gallery.
Passionate about both classical and experimental drawing, the artist draws with his eyes, using Eye Tracking, a technique that captures eye movements. The data is then translated by computer and transmitted to an articulated robot reproducing the gesture of the hand. These include the role of light, breathing and the artist's concentration - in particular, the opening of the pupil... Michel Paysant's work combines art, craft, science and new technologies. This project confirms the openness of the gallery's artistic line to the relationship between art and science.
