Presentation of the gallery

Galerie Univer / Colette Colla has been dedicated to contemporary art since 2006.
It exhibits artists whose work has built up a reputation over time, as well as emerging artists and those whose work is more intimate. In regular monographic exhibitions, it presents some twenty living artists and their most recent works. Works on paper and drawings are also part of the program, as the gallery strives to present the whole range of work, whatever the techniques used.
The gallery's vast space enables several projects to be presented simultaneously, while at the same time emphasizing the singularity of each one. Among the artists exhibited are Evdoxia, Jean Pierre Schneider, Monique Tello, Marc Ronet, Emma Bourgin, Olivier Marty, Annie Lacour, Philippe Fontaine, Emmanuelle Pérat...

Présentation de l'artiste en focus

The gallery presents a solo show by Evdoxia. Greek artist, born in 1980, recently settled in Paris, her singular work is built on her different careers as a visual artist, mathematician, dancer and performer.
Using thin metal rods, she builds constructions that inscribe a fragile architecture in space. The line ceases to be a trace on a surface and becomes the material that draws space around voids.
Evdoxia works with finely welded and assembled metal rods as much as with light. The work and its shadow form an inseparable whole, with lines multiplying in gradations of gray, creating a shifting pattern depending on the viewer's point of view. Thread has been introduced into her latest works, the artist playing with lightness, fragility and immateriality as much as with structure, construction and balance.
