Presentation of the gallery
Galerie Maxime Allain is built around a nomadic model. From time to time, it takes over selected spaces or forges partnerships to present works in meaningful contexts, where the dialogue between art, place and visitor can really take place.
She accompanies artists engaged in a demanding inner quest, whose work - in painting, sculpture or drawing - bears witness to a sincere quest for truth and beauty. Their approach, far from fashionable, is rooted in silence, presence and the right gesture.
Each exhibition becomes an experience of contemplation, an invitation to slow down, to look differently, to allow oneself to be moved by works that speak to intimacy.
Galerie Maxime Allain is first and foremost a place for people to pass through, listen to and pass on their work, true to a vision of art as a space for inner resonance and openness to the world.
Présentation du projet
For Drawing Now, galerie Maxime Allain is presenting three artists whose very different practices converge around the disturbance of the gaze and drawing as a quest beyond the visible.
Vassilis Salpistis blends bright colors and etched charcoal in drawings that blur reality. Textures and surfaces destabilize the eye, inviting the viewer to stop, contemplate and let himself be absorbed by the material.
Louise Dumas works in dry pastel from photographs taken during urban strolls. The chromatic precision of her large-scale works blurs the boundary between interior and exterior. This double perspective suspends the viewer's gaze in an intimate poetry through a landscape where everyone can find their own resonance.
Marine Bikard links drawing and dance. Moving away from a search for representation, her gestures, guided by listening to the body, give rise to vibrant forms.
Together, these three artists offer a journey through drawing as a space for sensitive attention and listening, where the surface of the outside meets the depths of the inside.
