Presentation of the gallery

Since its inception in 2014, Galerie Masurel has been advocating a no-holds-barred representation of contemporary art, disregarding labels and pre-established codes. Hand in hand with its established and promising young artists, it nurtures the desire to awaken our curiosity and broaden our vision of the world of today and tomorrow. Jérémie Masurel and Félix Baezner's aim is above all to let the artists experiment, to create a dialogue between mediums, techniques and supports, while leaving the original cultures to each artist the opportunity to assert themselves in a formal plastic practice that is more than ever contemporary.La galerie Masurel lives to the rhythm of solo and group exhibitions, as well as artist residencies and in-situ projects, making it a veritable place of possibilities and interactions, seeking to involve everyone, artists and collectors alike, the public and art professionals alike. From its base in Lyon's Rue Auguste Comte, Galerie Masurel is committed to focusing on art, and art alone, in its most disconcerting and eclectic guise.

Présentation de l'artiste en focus

Jean Jullien, 42, embodies a generation of French artists capable of linking the local and international scenes without losing their singularity. His work, centered on drawing, transforms universal motifs - skies, silhouettes, landscapes - into images of immediate force, accessible and memorable. For Drawing Now, he imagined an immersive display of A3 drawings, punctuated by large-format works and in situ wall interventions. This arrangement creates a visual and narrative rhythm that makes drawing a real experience. His candidacy confirms that a French artist can raise the profile of today's drawing medium: direct, universal and unifying. Supported by MASUREL gallery, this project highlights long-term loyalty and the desire to defend an artist in full maturity, whose work links everyday life and transmission with a rare clarity.
