Presentation of the gallery
Since 2013, Eva Steynen Gallery has supported contemporary artists whose distinctive perspectives on the world translate into art of conceptual and visual depth— a place to discover, reflect and connect.
Housed in a 19th-century mansion, the gallery presents five to six exhibitions each season—solo, duo and thematic group shows, alongside performances, talks, and publications. Annual group exhibitions introduce new voices, while participation in international art fairs expand its represented artists’ visibility.
Guided by long-term vision and dialogue with collectors, institutions and art lovers, Eva Steynen Gallery works closely with a small group of artists, fostering enduring relationships and steady, thoughtful development. By balancing commercial expertise of a gallery with experimentation and curatorial daring, the gallery offers museum-quality exhibitions and the thrill of discovery—a place where artists, ideas, and audiences grow well together.
Currently the gallery represents Nel Bonte, Christine Clinckx, Benoît Felix, Johannes Ulrich Kubiak, Wannes Lecompte, Fred Michiels, Laurence Plumier, Robert Soroko, Ken'ichiro Taniguchi, Helena Van Driessche, Jan Verbruggen.

Light in Between Lines - Benoît Felix & Johannes Ulrich Kubiak
For Drawing Now Paris 2026 – Process, Eva Steynen Gallery presents 'Light in Between Lines', a duo exhibition by Benoît Felix (°1969, B) and Johannes Ulrich Kubiak (°1961,D), exploring drawing as a process-driven, spatial, and conceptual practice. Benoît Felix probes the boundary between drawing, image, and object, treating the line as both pictorial illusion and physical presence. Through cutting, lifting, and pinning, his works extend into space, from large-scale cut-out drawings to delicate, fragile pieces that explore the limits and possibilities of drawing today.
Kubiak complements this investigation, working on paper and in three-dimensional constructions, layering pigments, graphite, and photographic fragments that appear and dissolve in continuous transformation. Together, their works create a dialogue between gesture and structure, control and chance. Light in Between Lines presents drawing as a living, expanded practice, where perception and materiality intersect, and the act of making itself becomes central to understanding the work.
