Presentation of the gallery
Alzueta Gallery, founded by Miquel Alzueta in Barcelona, has been a reference in contemporary art for over twenty-five years. The gallery has consolidated its presence both locally and internationally, with five galleries between Barcelona, Madrid, Casavells and Paris, and a residency in the Empordà region. The Saint-Germain-des-Prés gallery, its most recent site, opens a window on the international circuit, and reinforces its global projection in one of the world's art capitals.
In recent years, Alzueta Gallery has taken a significant turn towards a fresher, more global direction. Counting on a young and constantly growing team, it has strengthened its international influence, participating in prestigious fairs such as NADA, Kiaf, Art Paris and Armory Show.
Representing a wide range of artists, from emerging talents to internationally renowned figures, Alzueta Gallery offers varied proposals in disciplines such as painting, sculpture and photography, while fostering exchanges between artists from all over the world.
Présentation de l'artiste en focus
Alzueta Gallery is pleased to present drawings by Hugo Alonso and Jon Koko based on the work of Swedish artist Klas Ernflo.
If nature is at the heart of Klas Ernflo's work, snowy landscapes, inspired by his native Sweden, occupy a very special place. Snow, Nietzsche's metaphor for the coldness and loftiness of the philosopher (Ainsi parlait Zarathoustra, 1883), becomes here a terrain of asceticism and retreat from the tumult of the world. Beyond its aesthetic potential, snow invites the individual to refocus, awakening his or her full reflexive potential. Around Ernflo's drawings, Alzueta Gallery invites Hugo Alonso and Jon Koko to propose their own vision of these white landscapes. Together, the three artists question man's place in a sometimes hostile nature, where the warmth of the home appears as a space of resilience but also of fulfillment.
