Presentation of the gallery
Founded in Paris in 2022, Galerie Nadine Fattouh shares space at 35 rue de Lille with Galerie Jacques Leegenhoek, internationally renowned for its old paintings. Both galleries are equally demanding and rigorous in their selection of artists, and seek to build new bridges between the ancient and the contemporary.
Galerie Nadine Fattouh presents artists from all horizons, with a particular focus on artists from the Middle East. Whether established or emerging, the gallery works with them over the long term, building relationships based on trust. Wishing to establish a long-term presence in the contemporary art market, the gallery also favors close ties with its collectors and with institutional circles, publishing catalogs and sharing curatorial responsibilities. In 2024, for example, the exhibition Fares Cachoux, figures contemporaines broke all attendance records at the IMA-Tourcoing.
Présentation du projet
Echoing the Parallaxe exhibition and the "Femmes du dessin" proposal, Galerie Nadine Fattouh wishes to highlight
two women artists of Syrian origin living in Paris, Laila Muraywid and Nagham Hodaifa. Two
generations and two different backgrounds, but a common questioning of the female body (fragmentary
or transformed), its relationship to society, time, death and the environment.
Meanwhile, the work of Khaled Takreti, another Parisian of Syrian origin, focuses on the human figure
as a medium for memory, the passage of time, sexuality and solitude.
The presentation of these three artists will highlight a dynamic Franco-Syrian art scene
that is still little known to the general public.
