Endowment Fund for Contemporary Drawing

At the 2011 edition, DRAWING NOW PARIS I LE SALON DU DESSIN CONTEMPORAIN created the DRAWING NOW Prize awarded to Catherine Melin presented by the Galerie Isabelle Gounod. On the occasion, an endowment fund, designed to promote the development and influence of contemporary drawing and graphic works both in France and abroad, was created by Christine Phal, President of DRAWING NOW PARIS I LE SALON DU DESSIN CONTEMPORAIN.

“In creating an independent tool in parallel to the fair, comprising sponsor companies interested in supporting creativity in the field of contemporary design, we wanted to give greater visibility to this medium and the artists who chose it as a means of expression. It also gives a new audience the chance to discover the richness of contemporary drawing outside the exhibition period of the Salon.”

The Fund has three separate committees:

   

	the Committee of Friends of DRAWING NOW includes persons, in France or abroad, interested in the work of the endowment, offering support and who pay an annual fee;
	the Sponsors Committee includes major endowment donors;
	the Committee of Experts qualified in the field of contemporary drawing is charged with making proposals for and monitoring projects that can be funded at the request of the board of directors.
