In 2011, DRAWING NOW PARIS l LE SALON DU DESSIN CONTEMPORAIN created the DRAWING NOW prize which was awarded to Catherine Melin presented by the Isabelle Gounod gallery.
The DRAWING NOW prize goes to an artist aged under 50 focused on the stand of one of the exhibiting galleries.
DRAWING NOW PARIS thereby seeks to support an artist and pay tribute to his/her gallery's work.
The artist is chosen by the Show's selection committee, the director of the Drawing Center New York and the main patrons of the Fonds pour
le dessin contemporain.
An endowment fund to promote and develop contemporary drawing and graphic works in France and abroad was set up by Christine Phal, president of DRAWING NOW PARIS I LE SALON DU DESSIN CONTEMPORAIN for the occasion.
